Representatives of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) of Japan along with PPP Officials Visits Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover
ORION is the proud concessionaire of the Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover, the largest flyover in Bangladesh, with a total length of 11.80 kilometers. The flyover connects the capital with thirty (30) districts and operates 24 hours a day without interruption. This project stands as an excellent example of a successful Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative in Bangladesh.
On Tuesday, September 24, 2019, representatives from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) of Japan, the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh, the PPP Authority, and officials from Kajima Corporation, Japan, visited the Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover Project. The delegation also attended a luncheon hosted by ORION.
The guests were warmly welcomed by the Vice President (Corporate Affairs), Vice President (Project), and Assistant Vice President (Toll Operations) of ORION. During the visit, the Assistant Vice President (Toll Operations) delivered a presentation highlighting the construction methodology, challenges faced during the construction phase, and the current operation and maintenance activities of the project.
Following the presentation, a productive discussion took place. The delegation later visited Plaza-3 (Kutubkhali) to gain practical insight into the operational procedures of the toll system.
The guests expressed their admiration for the project’s construction process and appreciated the operational and maintenance practices in place. They also acknowledged the project as a role model of a successful PPP initiative in Bangladesh.
